Hello Parents and Students!
I hope you all had a great weekend.
Here are the weekly updates:
Reading: We are working hard on our research project! Students are working on developing text structures paragraphs about their topic (they will end up with five since there are five text structures.) We will continue writing these paragraphs this week. We will also continue to dig deep into reading text structures and idenifying them in nonfiction texts. We are enjoying our Book Club books this week and reviewing concepts using an additional nonfiction book. These concepts are summarizing, main idea & details, and text structures, and perspectives.
Writing: We will continue to work on our informational essays. We are working on our body paragraphs, citing evidence, and adding details to our writing. This week we will continue to develop our rough drafts and some of us will begin writing a conclusion.
Grammar: We are reviewing adjectives: comparative and superlative AND ordering adjectives. Your child is receiving notes that they are putting in the ELA tab of their binder.
We are also learning about root words and affixes. You child has a practice page in their binder!
